TRAVIS ANDERSON TRIO

The Travis Anderson Trio is a nationally touring, Minneapolis-based ensemble giving a modern twist to classic jazz and pops favorites. Led by fleet-fingered pianist Travis Anderson, this group brings electric energy and fresh interpretations to music of all sorts; jazz classics, Disney and Pixar, TV themes and even video game music.
Travis Anderson– A mainstay on the local jazz scene for over fifteen years, he’s wowed audiences everywhere from intimate jazz clubs to 2,000-seat concert halls. With a stylistic nod towards legendary trios like those led by Oscar Peterson and Erroll Garner, Travis loves putting fresh twists on familiar tunes. Whether it’s music from the Great American Songbook, Pixar, Super Mario or Studio Ghibli, he tries to find ways to welcome new audiences to jazz.
Steve Pikal- After touring as a trombonist with the Artie Shaw Orchestra, Steve taught himself how to play the double bass and has been at the top of the list of Twin Cities bass players ever since. Playing in a unique slap style, his solos are singular and electrifying.
Nathan Norman– One of the Twin Cities first-call drummers, he’s laid down the beat for legendary performers including Doc Severinsen, Delfeayo Marsalis and many others. He can turn up the heat, but also cool it down as one of the most sensitive drummers you’ll ever hear.
